Launch of Capitalcard Season Tickets (Agency : GPCC Advertising)

The campaign broke on Saturday 4th January 1985 ready for the launch of Capitalcard Season Tickets on Monday 6th. By then the plug had become associated with joint marketing initiatives between BR and LT. In this case it was used to power an electric pinball with the ball hitting the train, tube and bus pins to emphasise the primary benefits of Capitalcard. Agency GPCC Advertising worked on a very tight £42,000 production budget so that the majority of the budget could go into ‘airtime’. PR support on launch day was focused on Waterloo station with commuters being met with an early morning glass of Bucks Fizz and free Capitalcard plugs.
